Political corruption in Hoboken!

Today is one of those days I wish I were back in the newsroom.

Hoboken Mayor, Secaucus Mayor, Jersey City Deputy Mayor, and several other NJ politicians were arrested by the FBI this morning, along with rabbis in nearby Syrian Jewish communities. All in all at least 44 arrests. The crime? Money laundering. (Story from NJ Star-Ledger)

What an unlikely pair! (As it turns out, they did not work together on this, the FBI just decide to round them all up at once.)

The corrupt administrations isn’t much of a surprise; most of my NJ friends are all breathing a sigh of relief and hoping that this will improve some of the odd taxes and policies.
